e2E Satcom has been chosen to support EMS Aviation (Ottawa, Canada) with the Inmarsat
type approval of a new industry-leading Satcom transceiver for Rockwell Collins International.
The transceiver was selected for the Airbus A350 aircraft currently in development.
The Satcom equipment will provide for both cabin and cockpit services.
The ARINC 781-compliant product, supplied to prime integrator Rockwell Collins, provides
two channels of SwiftBroadband Class 6 service, along with Swift64 and Classic Aeronautical
services. A rigorous series of tests is required for each service type prior to being
allowed access to the network, and e2E Satcom is performing the physical layer test
cases required to ensure the RF and modem performance is compliant with Inmarsat’s
specifications. e2E Satcom combines the skills and specialized test equipment at
its Swindon-based laboratory to perform these tests quickly and efficiently for its
customers, while helping with programme schedule and de-risking.

giving its laboratory team an unrivalled overview of trade-offs and potential pitfalls
in meeting specifications, and covering both ambient and DO-160E environmental test
